Affordable Leach Field Services in Clarksville, TN and surrounding areas
A Leach Field is also known as a drain field. It is a crucial part of a septic system designed to safely disperse and filter wastewater from the septic tank through a network of perforated pipes laid in trenches underground. This system allows wastewater (effluent) to seep into the surrounding soil, where natural filtration processes remove contaminants, like bacteria and viruses, before the water reenters the groundwater system. The leach field is the final stage of wastewater treatment in a septic system. This process is crucial for the overall health and longevity of the septic system.

Get Your Septic Tank Pumped Every 3-5 Years To Avoid Costly Repairs To Your Leach Field
A Properly Maintained Leach Field Should Be Silent and Nearly Invisible. Leach fields are found in large open area in your yard. There is anywhere from 100 – 500+ feet of field lines winding underneath the surface typically between 12 – 24 inches deep and between one and three feet wide. Your Leach Field if properly maintained, could last 50+ years! However, if not taken care of, replacement cost could range in price from $10,000 - $30,000!!

Indicators that your Leach Field could be failing include:
Gurgling Sounds - If you hear gurgling noises in your drains when you use water in your home, it can indicate that the septic system is struggling to drain properly
Slow Draining Fixtures - If your sinks, toilets, and showers are draining slower them usual, it could be a sign of a clogged system or failing leach field
Sewage Odors - A sewage smell in your yard or inside your home is a clear sign of a septic system problem. This odor is often caused by wastewater backing up or gases escaping from a malfunctioning leach field
Standing Water/Wet Spots - If you have pooling water or unusually wet patches around the leach field area or tank, this could be an indication that the wastewater is not being absorbed into the ground and needs to be inspected by a technician
Backups in your home - In severe cases, a failing leach field can lead to sewage backups into your home’s drains, toilets, and showers

We proudly use Norwesco 1000-Gallon Low Profile Septic Tanks.
When installed correctly, these tanks are wonderful and easy to maintain. Plastic is more flexible than concrete, allowing it to withstand minor ground movement and shifting soil conditions. It’s more resistant to the chemical attacks from the hydrogen sulfide gas and acidic soil conditions that can cause concrete tanks to corrode, crack, and deteriorate over time. Most importantly, plastic tanks are manufactured in one single, seamless piece through rotational molding, which minimizes the risk of leaks and groundwater contamination. ALL of our tanks will automatically come with 2 professional grade Risers & lids. These are wonderful for ease of maintenance and accessibility on both the inlet and outlet side of your septic tank.
We install The Infiltrator Chamber System. This system consists of 36-inch wide modular, open-bottomed plastic arch pieces which are buried in trenches. These chambers replace the need for a more traditional pipe-and-gravel system. They are larger in diameter to handle large volumes of effluent, better resistance to clogging.
These chambers have built-in supports inside each chamber to help minimize collapsed field lines in the heavy clay dirt we have in Tennessee.

Do You Know Where Your Leach Field Is?
A Leach Field - or drain field, is a crucial, underground component of a septic system. These winding lines underground filters and disperses liquid waste (effluent) from a septic tank into the surrounding soil. It allows water to slowly percolate and be purified by aerobic bacteria.
A Failed Leach Field - means that the system responsible for filtering wastewater from your septic tank is no longer effectively treating and dispersing the effluent into the ground. This can lead to sewage backing up into your home or pooling on your property, as well as potential groundwater contamination. Several factors can contribute to leach field failure:
- Age – Older leach fields naturally degrade over time, with their ability to filter wastewater diminishing.
- Oversaturation - Excessive water usage from leaky faucets, running toilets, or high-water consumption can overwhelm the system and saturate the soil, preventing proper filtration.
- Clogged pipes - Roots from nearby trees and shrubs can infiltrate the pipes, blocking the flow of wastewater.
- Compaction - Vehicles or heavy structures built over the leach field can compact the soil, hindering drainage and filtration.
- Poor maintenance - Not pumping out the septic tank regularly can lead to solids entering the Leach Lines causing buildup, which can then clog the leach field.
